As a young girl growing up in Texas, I was an active volunteer for MDA, then as a Brownie, Girl Scout and Cadet, I sold many a cookie in support of the Girl Scout mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.
My “Ah Ha” moment as an adult woman was when my mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. There was no hope that she would survive and I felt so helpless. When asked to coordinate a blood drive for my company, it flashed… that although I could not help my mother, my efforts could help others. Ah ha! I have been volunteering ever since!

Ferrell,
You are a precious jewel of a girl and I wish you great success on your latest adventure!
By the way, I am on my way to the Agoura shelter to drop off a few extra blankets that I have lying about. You have inspired at least one person today!!!
Your blog is a great cause in and of itself. I wish you many followers, Ferrell!
What a thoughtful and worthy blog! Best of luck in your much appreciated endeavors (present and future).
